Pray for Aleppo

StartFragmentI created a new artwork. This is not a scene of the movie. It is a reality.... While I'm peacefully in Japan, I lose a sense of peace. It may lack reality even though I am concerned about Aleppo from Japan. But I definitely wanted to make it. I couldn't select a injured or crying child as a motif if I thought about his/her parents' feeling but a castle which was a symbol of Syria. The beautiful Aleppo castle which was also a World Heritage Site has been blown up and shattered. I thought about putting colors only in Syrian flag, but I decided not to put it in because Syria seems to be alive when I put in color.The iron powder will be rusted later and it will change a bit.

新作を作りました。アレッポへの祈り。 映画のワンシーンではなく、これは現実なのです。 日本にいると平和ボケしてしまいます。色々と豊か過ぎて。 平和ボケした私が、日本からアレッポのことを気にかけてもリアリティに欠けるかもしれません。でも、どうしても作りたくて作りました。モチーフとして負傷した子や泣いている子はご両親の気持ちを考えると選べませんでした。そこでシリアのシンボルであるアレッポ城を選びました。世界遺産でもある美しいアレッポ城は、今は爆破されて粉々です。 シリアの旗にだけ色を入れようと思ったけれど、色を入れるとシリアが生きている感じになるので敢えて入れないことにしました。 日がたつと鉄粉が錆びてきてまた違う感じになると思います。
